I’m posting these two video’s from google becuase I just stumbled onto a Good magazine post about Market Street in 1905 and the video didn’t work. So, I went on to youtube and it turns out it is a really cool video. Also, I found a video of market street in 1941 and 2005, so here it goes.

Market Street 1905:

According to good.is the painted line that distinguish lanes were put into use between 1905 and 1920 as a response to increased accidents… I can see why. All those cars zipping around, its not hard to imagine all the automobile accidents they must have had.

Quite an active street and now that their are street lines their are probably fewer car crashes, and thats always good.
