I’m posting these two video’s from google becuase I just stumbled onto a Good magazine post about Market Street in 1905 and the video didn’t work. So, I went on to youtube and it turns out it is a really cool video. Also, I found a video of market street in 1941 and 2005, so here it goes.
Market Street 1905:
According to good.is the painted line that distinguish lanes were put into use between 1905 and 1920 as a response to increased accidents… I can see why. All those cars zipping around, its not hard to imagine all the automobile accidents they must have had.
Market Street 1941:
Quite an active street and now that their are street lines their are probably fewer car crashes, and thats always good.
Market Street 2005:
Modern day, mini vans and sedans everywhere. No more epic car crashes…
