I don’t know what it is about watermelon carving, but it has somehow captured my interest in the last few weeks. If you haven’t seen them, check out my other two posts on watermelon carving; “Watermelon Carving – the Art of Gods” and “Watermelon Carving pt. 2 – flowers.” Anyhow, I’ve looked at a lot of pictures of carved watermelon flowers, animals and miscellaneous whats-its, but it’s time to see some live action, high octane, watermelon carving.

How to Carve a Watermelon Rose
This video should give you a good idea of the mechanics behind watermelon carving, and the resulting bouquet of roses is truly astonishing.
Watermelon Flower Carving
This is probably the most rudimentary of the watermelon carving techniques but it’s effective and looks good to boot.
A Different Style of Watermelon Flower Carving
This chef completely switches up the style we have seen so far, rather than shaving the skin off the watermelon he cuts into the top and expands by cutting out the watermelons green skin.
Watermelon Horse Carving
Carving starts at 0:35. Finally a great watermelon carving that is not a flower! The details are pretty great on this guy.
Watermelon Rose Carving W/ Crazy Petals
Carving starts at 0:50. The style is the same as the first two videos but the chef adds a complex series of carved watermelon rose petals.
The Other Style of Watermelon Carving Rose
I think the resulting watermelon rose is truly beautiful, much more interesting than the previous rose.
Geometric Flower Watermelon Carving
Carving starts at 0:16. The end result is a watermelon truly worthy of being called a sculpture.
Epic Watermelon Rose – Epic
Carving starts at 0:45. Remarkable! That is an epic watermelon carving!
